ABOUT MDI

Muscular Dystrophy Ireland (MDI) is a voluntary organisation that
provides support to people with neuromuscular conditions and their
families. Muscular Dystrophy Ireland envisages an Ireland that enables
people with neuromuscular conditions to fully participate in society
and reach their full potential.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to support people with muscular dystrophy. We do this,
using a member-centred approach, by:

* Providing information and support to people with neuromuscular
conditions and their families through a range of support services.
* Advocating for services and entitlements for members and educating
and informing society about the conditions.
* Supporting researchers and clinicians to carry out quality
research into neuromuscular conditions.

ABOUT MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY

Muscular dystrophy is a collective name for a range of neuromuscular
conditions. It is characterised as a progressive weakening, wasting
and loss of _muscle_ mass over time. It can present at birth,
childhood or manifest later in life.

POSITION DETAILS

JOB TITLE: Bookkeeper

LOCATION: MDI National Office in Chapelizod

SALARY: Dependent on experience.

HOURS: To be decided per week,

REPORTS TO: MDI CEO

Purpose of job

BOOKKEEPER JOB SPECIFICATIONS

* Processing Purchase Invoices
* Ensuring POs match supplier invoices
* Posting Invoices to Sage
* Reconciling Creditors accounts to Suppliers Statements
* Process Monthly Payment to Suppliers
* Post Payment to supplier’s accounts on Sage
* Prepare and issue Quarterly, Half yearly and Monthly invoices for
Health Boards and funding
* Post all funding receipts to the main Bank account
* Post all payments to Supplies and any Direct Debits from main Bank
Account to Sage
* Post Salaries to Nominal accounts on Sage
* Reconcile Staff Travel & Other Staff expenses & prepare for
payment. Post on Sage.
* Prepare lodgement from cash donations, room hire & home from home.
Lodge to main bank account. Post to individual nominal accounts on
Sage.
* At end of month reconcile all bank accounts and post on Sage.

SPECIALIST ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* A relevant Qualification
* Prior bookkeeping experience
* Experience with Sage essential
* Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Proven ability to work on own initiative.
* Excellent communication skills
* Excellent administration and IT
* Self-starter with a process-improvement mindset
* Ability to organise and manage time effectively and to prioritise
workload to meet deadlines
